1 The Data Protection Act
Under the Data Protection Act, we have a legal duty to protect any information we collect from you. We store your information securely, and keep strict security standards to prevent any unauthorised access to it. We do not pass on your details to any third party unless you decide to buy or sell items through the site’s ‘For Sale’ trading platform.
2 What information do we collect?
We collect three kinds of information from visitors to our website: registration information, feedback (through emails to the administrator) and site usage information, from cookies and log files.
3 Registration information
You do not have to register to browse our website, but you do need to register to contribute entries to the audio database and interact with other registered users of the site through the ‘For Sale’ trading platform.
When you register we ask you to provide:
- A user name
- A password
- Your email address
When you register as a buyer or as a seller we will also ask you to provide further information including your address and your Paypal account details.
We store this information securely so that you do not have to re-enter details each time you use the site.
4 Use of information
We use the information for the following purposes;
- To keep the site safe and to enforce our terms and conditions
- To enable you and other registered user to buy and sell audio items
- To customise your browsing experience
We do not sell your information or share it with any third party except as stated within this policy.

6 Log files/cookies
We use log files which allow us to record visitors’ use of the site. We analyse log file information from all visitors, which we use to make changes to the layout of the site and to the information in it. Log files do not contain any personal information and they are not used to identify any individual patterns of use of the site.
7 What happens when I click a link to another site?
Our website may contain links to other websites of interest. When you use these links to leave our site, you should note that we do not have any control over that other website. Therefore, we cannot be responsible for the protection and privacy of any information which you provide whilst visiting such sites and such sites are not governed by this privacy statement. You should exercise caution and look at the privacy statement applicable to the website in question.
8 Access to your information and contacting Audio Gear
You can change your registration information at any time. To do this, you should log-in and change the entries made in your profile. You can request your registration to be deleted by contacting us at email@example.com
